HOME

Thank You for visiting our site.  We are a non-profit group made up of families providing support for children in need. Foster parents and their families open their hearts and homes to provide a safe and loving home to those in need.  Children suffering from abuse and/or neglect are placed in care for days, weeks and sometimes years and are often adopted by their foster families.

Our mission is to be informative as well as supportive to our future and current foster/adoptive parents.  We also want to encourage anyone wanting to become a foster/adoptive parent to go through our web site and learn what it takes to help a child.  It takes a special person to give love and support to someone else's child.  Are you that person?

We are totally funded by voluntary donations, if you see that fostering children is not for you but you would still like to help contact us.  There are many ways to help the children in need.

Becoming a foster parent is a big commitment with even bigger rewards.  The needs of children in care are not just food, clothing, and a safe secure home. They also need reassurance, encouragement, self esteem, love, and the ability to love someone else.  Cherokee County is in need of foster parents, but especially parents that can take teenagers and sibling groups.  If you would like to learn more about fostering or adoption through Cherokee County Department of Family and Children Services, please call the Impact Inquiry Line at 877-210-5437.

CPR & First Aid Training

If there is anyone still in need of CPR Training please contact Jeff to schedule your class.  You must be certified before you will be allowed to take in any children.

All Foster Parents are required to take a CPR and keep it current.  CPR cards are good for 2 years.  As foster parents ourselves we understand that your time is valuable and finding babysitters or respite to attend a class is not easy.  We can also bring the instruction to your door, yes we make house calls.

We offer a variety of CPR combinations depending on your needs, including but not limited to First Aid and Infant CPR.  All instruction is provided on your schedule. Contact Jeff at jblackwell@firstactioncpr.com to get pricing and to schedule a class or call 770-652-9051. This will be reimbursable to foster parents in need of certification and you will be able to count the time as training hours as well.
